Late Night "Snack"urday: Muddy Buddies

Today I took a mental health day! I ran to Kohl’s, by myself! Which was really nice because I had never been in Kohl’s before. They had great 80% off racks in the kids department. I got the littlest one 2 sets of carters PJ’s, a pack of big girl undies (attempting Potty Training), and a really adorable dress for only $20!

Anyway, back to “Snack”urday! I hadn’t posted it this morning because I was spending time with the kids. I thought we may skip it this week. Then I got questioned! My kids wanted to know what was for “Snack”urday, and Michelle emailed me and said,”What no Snackurday?” So, we are having a late night “Snack”urday!

My husband is busy watching the Bucs and the Jaguars football game. My son, surprisingly, volunteered to help me in the kitchen. This is really a fun recipe for kids! They love to help. It is also a great treat to pack in the lunch box for school! I find that it is perfect for a chocolate craving too!

Muddy Buddies
——————-

  • 9 cups Chex Cereal
  • 6 oz Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 16 oz pkg of Powdered Sugar

—————————

Measure out Cereal in LARGE bowl. Use the biggest one you have!
In a regular Microwave safe bowl place Chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter.
Microwave on High for 1 minute until you can stir smooth.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour Chocolate mix over cereal and mix until coated.
Put about 2 cups powdered sugar in large ziploc bag.
Add about half of the cereal mix and shake….make sure bag is sealed before you shake!
Dump coated cereal on to a wax paper lined cookie sheet.
You could eat immediately or refrigerate first. It does taste better cold.
Store uneaten Muddy Buddies in Airtight container in fridge.
Also, this can be made Dairy and Gluten Free.
Use Rice Chex for Gluten Free, and Margarine for Dairy Free.
Have a Great Weekend!
