Tide You Over Tuesday: Homemade Queso Dip

by Amanda @ A Few Short Cuts on August 25, 2009

I hope I am not the only one with Tostitos coming out of their ears. With all of the coupons this week it was hard to turn down free chips and produce! I have been trying to think of ways to use them.

When I was in High school, I would go over to my friend Heather’s house. We would swim and make this dip in the crockpot and eat it with fritos! OH, the days when calories didn’t count!

This stuff is super for parties or just because!

Homemade Queso Dip
————————–

  • Velveeta Cheese
  • Salsa
  • Chips to dip

—————————-
Cut Velveeta Cheese into cubes (It melts easier that way)
Amounts vary depending on the amount of dip you want to make.
Use Equal Parts Velveeta and Salsa, and place in microwave safe bowl.

Microwave on high for 1 minute.
Stir until everything is melted together.
Serve warm with chips, or fritos.
Can be kept warm in a small dip crockpot.

Almost forgot! Velveeta is BOGO until the new sale starts, and you get the salsa with all of those great Tostitos coupons. SO, stock up on the supplies before the sale ends. You can make this super cheap!

Here’s one for you… in blender, place a block of cream cheese and a can of rotel, blend til smooth and you have a very yummy & quick twist on cheese dip!
if you try it, let me know what you think!

I think this cheese dip made with rotel instead of salsa is sooo good! I don’t drain any of the “juice” it makes the cheese hotter and not as thick.
