Oh how I never thought I would bake anything that was Gluten- Free or Dairy-Free. How kids change everything, I know we are eating healthier now. But the days of going to the Dairy Queen drive through and getting a large Oreo Blizzard are over …(sighs!) So, in my effort to try to be more Gluten Free around here I am trying a new Brownie Recipe.
I had made the new Betty Crocker Gluten Free Brownies from the box and they are delicious! However, $4 something every time we want brownies is a bit much. I knew I could find a great recipe to make them from scratch and I did!
I am trying something new, let me know how you like it. There is a printable version of the recipe. Click the link below the recipe name below!
Gluten Free, Dairy Free Brownies
————————————
- Vegetable Spray (Pam)
- 1 ¼ cups applesauce
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 mashed banana
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cup brown rice flour (Publix sells this!)
- 6oz chocolate chips or half a bag (vegan or Ghiradelli are dairy free!)
———————————————————
Preheat oven to 350 °
Grease and 8×8 pan using either vegetable spray or crisco. I would use a 9×13 next time I make these. They come out really thick!
Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the pan comes out clean. Be careful not to over cook!
These brownies are dense and fudgey!
I was instructed by some tiny people to cut them before they were completely cool…that is why the brownie in the picture looks a little too gooey!
For those of you who are not interested in Dairy Free or Gluten Free, I will now direct you to one of the best homemade Brownie Recipes EVER!

“Snack”urday: Pumpkin Cream Cheese Swirl Cake
Red Nosed Reindeer Cookies
Chicken Parmesan Nibbles

I love all the cheap recipes you post for snackurday and the weekly meal deals! In my opinion it really sets you apart from other bloggers – because almost all bloggers post the coupon matchups and great deals. My favorites so far where the chicken parmesan and the fiesta nachos. And of course muddy buddies, but I already knew how to make those!
