This is a favorite at my house. Especially when it starts to cool off outside. I didn’t cook them for the longest time. I could never make them just the right way. I finally asked my husband’s grandmother one day for her dumpling recipe. She laughed and said I just buy the ones in the freezer section. They turn out the best. I couldn’t believe it. Sure enough. They sell them in the freezer section by the frozen biscuits. Who would have guessed?! So, here is a super easy recipe for Chicken and Dumplins
Short Cut Chicken and Dumplins
- 2-3 large chicken breasts or 2 lbs chicken
- 1 package Mary B’s Dumplings from the freezer section
- 64 oz chicken broth or water with chicken bouillon
- salt and pepper

—————————————————-
These are so super easy.
In a large stock pot, heat broth or Water with Chicken Bouillon to boiling. Add chicken.

Boil about 30 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. I had some left from when I made it homemade, so it didn’t cost me anything.
Remove Chicken from pot and set aside. If it is on a bone remove and discard bone. Otherwise just cut/tear into bite sized pieces.
While Broth is boiling, drop dumplings in one at a time, stirring so that they don’t stick together.
Once all dumplings are added: cover, turn heat down and cook for 35-45 minutes.
After the 35 minutes add the chicken back to the pot. Stir and Serve!
Makes delicious Chicken and Dumplings!

Yumm, I will have to try this one. I made chicken and dumplings last week when we were all sick and used Grands butter blasting biscuts pulled into pieces… OMG it was sooooooo good.!
This is one of my favorite meals to make when it gets cool outside! Talk about SUPER easy!!! Great to make extra and freeze too!
Thank you for the link.
I made Chicken and dumplings just last night but I use Bisquick to make my dumplings and I also add a can of cream of chicken soup. The soup gives it a little more taste. Delicious!!
I made chicken & dumplings Sunday night:) I used 2 cans of chicken broth, 2 cans of water, can of biscuits and celery, carrots, onion, garlic & leftover rotissorie chicken all from the freezer. I planned on using a can of cream of chicken, but it thickened up just fine-was delicious!
