Halloween Treat: Monster Mouths

DSCN2552This week I am going to try to cram in as much Halloween fun as possible.  My kids are ready for the holiday!  I wish I could say the same!  I still have finishing touches to make on a Wolverine, Ballerina, and a Bumble Bee.  ~sigh~  I wish they would all coordinate just one year and make my life a little easier.

I found these in a old Better Homes and Gardens.  I thought they were too cute, and easy!  I hope you guys like them!

Monster Mouths

  • 2 medium Green or Red Apples
  • 1/3 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/3 cup candy corn
  • Mini marshmallows, and gummy worms (optional)DSCN2544

These are super easy!

You can get a nifty corer/slicer like this at Publix or the Dollar Store.

Core and Cut apples into 8 thick slices.  I use my handy dandy apple corer slicer.

Make each mouth by spreading about 1 teaspoon of the peanut butter on an apple slice.

Spread another apple slice with the same amount of peanut butter, and push slices together.DSCN2549

Now use candy corn, or marshmallows to make the teeth.  You could use gummy worms for tongues.  You could decorate with any kind of goody!DSCN2552

I would love to see your creativity on these.  If you guys have a great idea let me know.

These are good and atleast have some nutritional value with the apples.

Plus…..they are GFCF (Gluten Free and Casein Free!)

I’m going to surprise my son with these when he comes home this afternoon! He is allergic to pb, so sunbutter will be our substitute. Great idea – thanks!
