Halloween Treat: Smooshed Crunchy Bugs

I know the title sounds gross, but it’s Halloween time people!  Let’s face it…kids like gross!  I have made this treat a couple times.   Each time the kids love them!

They are really easy too, which is a major plus for me!

The hubby went so far one year to tell my daughter and her friends that they were chocolate covered bugs.  With the crunch of the cereal and the softness of the raisins it got them going!

Smooshed Crunchy Bugs

  • Round Crunchy Cereal (Like KIX)
  • Raisins
  • Semi Sweet Chocolate ChipsDSCN2192

Take a large sheet pan and cover it with wax paper.

Take small groups of cereal and raisins and place them in bunches on the pan.DSCN2197

Place chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl and microwave at 50% for 1 minute.DSCN2194 Stir chips, continue to microwave at 50% until the chips are melted.  DSCN2196

Spoon melted chocolate over bunches of cereal and raisins to cover.DSCN2198

Place pan in fridge or freezer until chocolate sets back up.

Serve.

Also fun to make old bones with pretzels and White chocolate chips!
