Giveaway: Get Financially Naked:How to Talk Money with Your Honey

by Amanda @ A Few Short Cuts on January 29, 2010

My giveaway spree continues.  I was recently contacted and offered a copy of Get Financially Naked: How to Talk Money with your Honey.  I said sure, send me a copy to read over.  I know I could use any financial help I can get.  When you get married Finances aren’t typically the first thing you talk about.  Maybe they should be.

I know a lot of you are just as busy as I am.  This is a great book that will help you simplify your finances. It is written by personal finance experts Manisha Thakor and Sharon Kedar. It’s great for married women as well as women on the verge or already in a committed relationship. In the book, the authors provide a step-by-step process toward discovering their financial compatibility. They can offer unique advice to your readers such as how to:

  1. Write mutual financial vows
  2. Honor your financial anniversary by taking inventory of your expenses
  3. Plan financial date nights to check in with each other
  4. Get intimate with your investments
  5. Give each person in a relationship some financial space by creating a “no questions asked” budget

Bestselling authors Manisha Thakor and Sharon Kedar both earned MBA degrees from Harvard Business School and are Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholders.

I am going to be honest.  I am 3/4 of the way through the book. I don’t have much free time :) .  It is extremely informative!  They offer amazing realistic ideas on how to get on the same page , financially, with your spouse.

I have been offered to give a copy of Get Financially Naked: How to Talk Money with your Honey to one of my readers.

My husband has an addiction to I-tunes. He spends around $120.00 a month. He is trying to do better, I just can’t seem to make him sit with me and look through our bills and so forth. It has ALWAYS been my job to take care of the bills. It stresses me out!

Our biggest problem is creating and sticking to a budget. And we spend soooooo much money eating out at restaurants!
