Holy Deals Batman! This is….
HUGE
Walgreens has published their store coupon policy! I know I know….take a minute to catch your breath!
The company made famous by couponers for not being coupon friendly has finally published a coupon policy! So, hurry over to Walgreens site and print this bad boy. Keep it with your coupons the next time you go into Walgreens and they try to hassle you. It is now all down in Black and White what you can and can not do.
Here are some of the best!
-
In the event that any item’s selling price is less than the value of the coupon, Walgreens will only accept the coupon in exchange for the selling price of the item. (This means that the cashier/manager should adjust the coupon value down to match the item’s value)
- When purchasing a single item, Walgreens accepts one manufacturer coupon and applicable Walgreens coupon(s) for the purchase of a single item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
- When items are featured in a Buy One, Get One Free promotion, up to two coupons can be used against the items being purchased, as long as the net price does not go below zero for the items being purchased. (Finally no more arguing with the cashier! WOO HOO! I may actually go to Walgreens today!)
- Walgreens accepts valid internet/print at home coupons.
So what do you think of this new policy? Will you shop at Walgreens more now that it is in Black and White?
Thanks so much Hip2Save!

I went to the store with a copy of the policy today(August 27, 2010) and the manager said that she could not adjust the coupon price!! It was an item for $3.99 and the coupon was for $4….the managers should be better informed ahead of time for coupon shoppers like me will be upset. So I sent them an email…whatever that will do.
Even with the policy in hand they wouldn’t adjust the coupon? That is crazy! I would definitely call until I got a hold of someone who knew what they were doing. Sometimes it is better to talk to a district manager than corporate on local issues. Keep me posted!
Also stated in the coupon policy (in addition to the ad) it’s all limited to management’s discretion.
Jane everywhere in the coupon policy that states “at managements discretion” refers to items not covered in the policy. Not the policy itself. The policy is not flexible.
We all want to save money but in the end, just try to be nice to those you are working with. Any of the retailers you go into, it isn’t their fault that these coupon policies are this way. You’ll get further by being nice! Trust me, I know.
If I want to do two purchases so I can get two of the same item, do I have to leave the store and come back. I wanted to get two of the same razors and get the rewards so I wanted to do two tracsactions and check out twice but not leave the store and the cashier was very loud and rude to me and said I can’t purchase two razors and get the rewards, so then I went to my second transaction with the second razor and she yelled at me and said didn’t you understand what I just told you….I just kinda wanted to get it straight with what I needed to do. Thanks Donna
No you technically don’t have to leave the store. However walgreen’s employees are not trained to be very customer service friendly. So, it depends on your store. If your store is giving you a problem, it may be best to come back later or on another day to complete your other transaction. I would consider calling corporate and letting them know what happened. They are typically helpful in getting the situation resolved.
