Tide You Over Tuesday: Sweet & Spicy Holiday Nut Mix

With the holidays around the corner I am always looking for things to serve guests, or to give as gifts.  When you walk through the mall, and go past the kiosks with the spiced nuts it always smells amazing! I love to taste the samples they hand out, but they are kinda pricey.

So, I decided to make some of my own.  These are Spicy, but not so spicy that you don’t want to eat them.  Mix in some crasins and you have  a perfect snack for on the coffee table when you have company.  Serve with some spiced cider and you will have a nice get together.

These are naturally gluten free, and you can use margarine to make them dairy free.  Wrap these up in a nice container and they make a great gift!

Sweet and Spicy Holiday Nut Mix

· 2 TBSP Butter or Margarine Melted

· 2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce

· ½ tsp ground cumin

· ½ tsp. garlic powder

· ½ tsp. seasoned salt

· ¼-1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper

· 3 cups pecan halves

· 1-1/2 cups dried cranberries

002

Combine the first six ingredients in a large bowl.

004

Add pecans and mix well.

008

Spread in an ungreased 13X9 baking pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 10 minutes;

013

Stirring halfway through.

022

Cool completely. Stir in cranberries. Store in an airtight container

Makes about 4 cups

These are not as spicy as they sound. They are tasty to everyone!

These sound great and I think I must try them! I live in what used to be a pecan orchard and have several trees and all the pecans I could desire so, I am always looking for something new to do with them. Thanks for posting.

Nice meeting you and keep up the good work.
