I love hitting the thrift stores and garage sales for great old items. They are almost always better constructed than things you can buy at the stores today, plus since they are at the thrift store you get them for just pennies.
I got this magazine rack at Goodwill for $3. It is solid wood, but was a little dirty and worn. So I washed it off, gave it a quick sanding and a coat of black spray paint.
After it looked brand spanking new! So all together I think I probably spent $7 on this magazine rack, which in my opinion is pretty good!
This magazine rack is selling at Sears for almost $50! So, next time you see one of these older pieces don’t think about what it looks like now, but what it has the potential to look like with a little TLC.
