It is getting close to Halloween and my kids are bubbling with excitement. They love holidays, and everything that comes with them; the decorating the treats, the costumes, and more. So this year we decided to get creative and really kick it up a notch for Halloween. We spent the day being creative with our supplies we got from the dollar store. There is no need to spend a ton of money to decorate and have a blast. We decorated the entire house for under $30 this year.
My favorite decoration this year has to be our front door. We wrapped it with streamers to look like Frankenstein. The eyes are just Styrofoam circles I found in the craft section at the dollar store.
Once you come in our front door, you are greeted with our decorations leading to the basement. I didn’t want to make it too scary, my kids are still little.
Oh, and I don’t want to forget our front window! We bought some large cob webs and some caution tape. Plus, the foam tombstones make it look awesome! The kids want to add some spooky lights to make it look creepy!
Then we got hungry, and creative. Instead of putting out a big bowl of candy this year, we wanted to make our treats special. The kids and I busted out the Big Bag of HERSHEY’S Assorted Shapes Halloween Candy, construction paper, markers, scissors, and the googly eyes. No craft project is complete unless you have googly eyes.
We wrapped our HERSHEY’S with construction paper then, made witches, monsters, mummies, spiders, bats, and more. The kids used their imaginations and really went to town. We decided we are saving our decorated treats for their friends at school.
The rest of the treats are for us….if they last that long.
