I have a confession. There are not always fresh baked goods in my kitchen. SHOCKER…right?! LOL I am a busy mom of 3 and while I would like to be the perfect mom with fresh cupcakes on her cake plate…that doesn’t happen.
I was a little shocked when I looked at the calendar and realized that Easter is this weekend. Like in a few days….HOW did that happen? So I started digging.
Thanks to my hubby’s sweet tooth we had Hostess Cupcakes, Hostess Twinkies, Fruit rolls, peeps, and some candy straws. We can be creative and make a fun Easter treat with these…I just know we can. Worst case scenario. We throw caution to the wind, eat a twinkie & a peep, smile, and try again another day. LOL
Did you know Hostess has been winning the hearts of generations and making snacking history for almost 100 years. They are usually in our pantry for family snacking as well as creative, crafting time. The kids love to play with their food.
You will need:
- Hostess Twinkies
- Hostess Cupcakes
- Bunny Peeps Candy
- Green Candy Straws
- Orange Fruit Leather Candy
We realized kinda fast that a fruit roll up covers a Hostess Twinkie perfectly. Kinda like it was meant to be. We used orange because….
We were going to cut it in half…..
And stick it on a Hostess Cupcake to make it look like a carrot growing of course! We cut the candy straws and stuck them right in the top for the carrot tops. Then we sat our little bunny peep buddies on the sides of their giant carrots. Doesn’t that peep bunny look happy? That carrot is as big as he is.
I can’t tell you how happy I am at how these turned out. The kids were so excited that their idea turned out, and they are so stinkin adorable to put on the table for Easter. Well, they won’t last that long, but we can make more!
