Disney’s Moana Review

Every once in a while we get to do some awesome amazing cool things because of So, thank you for being a reader because it allows my family some fun opportunities, like going to the press preview of Disney’s Moana last night.

For centuries, the greatest sailors in the world masterfully navigated the vast Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, 3,000 years ago, their voyages stopped for a millennium – and no one knows exactly why. From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes “Moana,” a sweeping, CG-animated feature film about an adventurous teenager who is inspired to leave the safety and security of her island on a daring journey to save her people. Inexplicably drawn to the ocean, Moana (voice of Auliʻi Cravalho) convinces the mighty demigod Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson) to join her mission, and he reluctantly helps her become a wayfinder like her ancestors who sailed before her. Together, they voyage across the open ocean on an action-packed adventure, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills her quest and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess & the Frog”), produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), and featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa‘i, “Moana” sails into U.S. theaters on Nov. 23, 2016.

This is a beautifully animated movie! Just the sight of the animation will keep you in awe throughout the movie. Of course my family fell in love with the characters and the story line too. I may have teared up a time or two, but I am a crier.

There was a ton of laughing too!  Hei Hei (the chicken) was a hysterical addition to the movie. I would have loved to see more of Pua. He was ADORABLE!

The movie is almost 2 hours long, which could make sitting still hard for the 6 and under crowd. There were a couple parts of the 3D movie that made my 8 year old jump, but weren’t too scary. Everyone really enjoyed it and they can’t wait until it comes out on Blu-ray so we can add it to our collection!

If you have been wondering if this movie is worth seeing, it totally is! Be ready to be in awe when it hits theaters on November 23, 2016!
