Summer Craft: Beach Wreath

by Amanda @ A Few Short Cuts on June 30, 2010

Sea Shell Wreath

Alot of you know that we have been spending a ton of time at the beach lately!  We are lucky to live close enough that we can go whenever we want.  The downside is ….I have enough sea shells to open my own shop.  My kids love collecting the darn things, but we have no idea what to use half of them for.

So, I thought I would share with you one of our sea shell projects! It cost less than $5 and make a beautiful decoration on the front door!

All you will need is.

  • Sea Shells
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Hot glue sticks
  • Grape fine wreath (found at craft store)
  • Ribbon

Wrap the Ribbon around the wreath.  Secure it with glue if needed. I tied a bow at the bottom for “cuteness” (I have 2 little girls :)   )

Start gluing.  The kids picked the shells and I manned the glue gun.  This worked best because only I  had the burns ;) No, just kidding.  I used a low temp glue gun, but it still smarts.

Let them dry and hang! It’s that easy!

I have another craft for you next week!  Hopefully, I will help you keep those kids busy while they are home for the summer!

So pretty! Will have to try this with all the shells we’re collected.
