If you want to add some color to accent your decor or celebrate the holiday paint or stain your beads first. Do this before stringing and allow them to dry completely.
Decide how long you want your string. Depending on where you will display it, you might have it short or much longer to be used to drape around a vignette tray. I used half the beads in my pack of 100 and got a nice long string from it.
Wrap a small piece of tape around the end of your twine and trim it close to prevent your twine from fraying as you push it through the bead. Think, shoe lace.
Slide the string through the beads until you have reached your desired length, leave 4” on either end of the string to attach your tassels or tie it off.
To create your tassels:
Wrap twine around your palm 20- 25 times.
Wrap another piece of twine around one end of the loops you just made about 10 times. Do this 1” from the end. Tie a secure knot in the end and trim off the excess.
Cut all the loops on the opposite end to make a tassel.
Open the tied off end and slip the end of your beaded length through the center. Wrap it around several times and tie in a tight knot.
