DIY Scootboard – Fun DIY Gift for Kids
Such a fun and affordable Homemade Christmas gift. Check out this fun DIY Scootboard project! Easy to make and great for kids!
I have a kid who has an obsession with all things that roll this Christmas! Seriously, she has a scooter, bike, scootboard, little cars ….if it has wheels, chances are it is on her list. Funny thing is she is the last kid in the world that needs to move any faster. LOL
I have a plan to make each kid one present this year. I want them to know that not everything needs to be store bought. Sometimes a gift can be even more special when it is handmade. 😉
So….off to home depot I went to get the makings of a scootboard. This is so easy, anyone can do it! I promise.
DIY Scootboard
You will Need
- 1 Pine Round ( already cut & sanded) about $5
- 4 casters these were around $2 each
- Small wood screws for the casters
- Paint….if desired.
First things first….I painted mine pine round because…it needed pink stripes! DUH!
I then screwed the wheels into the bottom. NO…I didn’t paint the bottom pretty because I hope that no one sees it. LOL When you screw the wheels in keep atleast 1 1/2 inches from the edge. That way little fingers don’t get caught.
That is it y’all. You are good to roll! If you want to add handles you totally could. I know my kid though, and she is just going to grab and go…handles might slow her down. LOL
My oldest decided to help me model exactly how it will work. It even held her. I have a feeling before it is all said and done I will be customizing 2 more scootboards.
Doesn’t this look like so much fun?
never heard of this but really cool
yasss! so cool!
