What is BoseBuild? Exploring How Speakers Work!
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of BOSEbuild for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
When we get a package at the front door it is usually something I ordered for the house or something for work. I would be lying if I said my kids don’t come running to see anymore…because they do. It’s either,
“Oh…it’s laundry detergent.” or
“Ahhh, check this out!!!”
This week I earned brownie points when we opened the “work box” to find this BOSEbuild Speaker Set. I love partnering with fun brands like this! This new toy has just been released to help your kids explore speakers, music, and sound. I don’t even think my kids knew exactly what it was yet.
What is BOSEbuild?
BOSEbuild comes from the wonderful people at BOSE. You know their speakers sound amazing, now explore how it all works. The BOSEbuild Speaker Cube is a journey through the science of sound from magnets to music. The journey starts with a guided experience – including a gamified mobile app and hands-on activities – that invites kids to experiment with how a simple magnet and coil can make sound. After kids explore the mechanics of sound, they can build and personalize their very own durable speaker with a choice of LED lights, silhouette covers and clip arrangements.
How difficult is it?
I sat down with my kids 8, 11, and 15 and we did this together. They probably didn’t need my help but hey…Mom needs to have fun too. It was truly amazing to explore speakers and find out how they really work. Kids should be able to handle this one on their own but it is more fun if you join in. BOSEbuild recommends this for ages 8 and up.
Is it Sturdy?
Ahh… the age old question. Is it sturdy? I mean you Build-it-yourself. The BOSEbuild Set is really sturdy. I was surprised just how tough the speaker is when built. My kids have already taken it all over the house and it is A-OK.
How long does it take to build?
The BOSEbuild isn’t just building the speaker, but exploring all about speakers, sound, and electromagnets too! I would say that the entire app led lesson and build took as about 3 hours. We broke it up over a couple different sessions. Once you have the speaker assembled though, the fun doesn’t end. From discovery and exploration of the very building blocks of sound to building and customizing their own Speaker Cube, kids will enjoy a high-performance Bluetooth speaker for years to come
The BOSEbuild Speaker Cube is now available for pre-order at build.bose.com for $149.
My kids are pretty much in love with this one! I have seen them continue to use and play with this for days. They are still trying to test it’s capabilities, and I have seen them googling things about sound, music, and speakers. BOSEbuild has really sparked something in their imaginations. I think what makes BOSEbuild successful is that it encourages kids to explore how sound and speakers work. It gives them just enough information to get them curious about even more. I love it! Plus with our new BOSEbuild Speaker that lights up we have had some pretty incredible Summer time slumber parties!
What fun ways do you help your kids discover the world around you?
