What Was In My First Stitch Fix and What I Thought

Check out what was in my first stitch fix box and what I thought about it!

I opened the door today and I was super surprised that my Stitch Fix was here. Although I know all about the company, (remember Stitch Fix 101?) this was the first time I had ever ordered my own “Fix”. I don’t know why I waited this long, but I felt it was time to spice up my wardrobe with a couple new pieces, and I was anxious to see what their stylist chose for me. Frankly, my expectations weren’t that high, but I was really curious to see what would be included.

When I opened the box there was this nice little wrapped bundle of tissue paper. What on earth could fit in that? I opened it gently and out popped all kinds of goodies! In my box I had…

Just by looking at the items I thought they were cute, but was unsure about the jeans and the sweater. I am very petite and only 5′ tall. Finding jeans that fit is like winning the lottery. It happens so rarely that when I do, I buy a couple pairs just so I have them. The sweater seemed like a very unnecessary piece to me, mostly because I already have a bunch. I love sweaters.

First on out of the box were the Dear John Jeans and the Papermoon blouse. The blouse is that sheer material that needs a tank top under it. Before I even put it on that lost points with me. Then I picked up the jeans. Here goes nothing.

Holy crap!!! First of all. The jeans fit, all over. Not just in some spots, in all spots, the length, the waist, the thighs. It is like they somehow magically knew me and what I needed. (I know, I told them my size, but still!) BEST JEANS EVER! The blouse also surprised me by being one of my favorite pieces in the entire box.

Next up was the Indianan Graphic Print Mixed Material Tee. This top is super comfy and looks great with the jeans. It’s loose but doesn’t look bad, it has a great fit.

Then came the dress. I had actually picked this dress out and pinned it to My Style Board on Pinterest. Again, because I am short things tend to fit me differently, but the length of this was perfect. I had a little white belt I put on with it. I also have a jacket that is going to go perfect with it and a pair of boots! AHHH!! So cute for date night or church on Sunday.

Last in my box was this Martina Slub Knit Open Cardigan. It is SO SO SO soft, and comfy, and it has pockets. The picture doesn’t really do it justice. I will probably live in it from now until next summer. It is going to be so cute with my LuLaRoe Julia dresses too! Have you heard of LuLaRoe?….I will have to tell you about them another day.

Verdict?!

Well, after much deliberation on my part about my Stitch Fix Box, I have decided to keep all 5 pieces. I was really in love with a couple of them, and really liked the others. I may have sent some back, but a few things helped me make my decision.

First of all, those jeans fit so well I didn’t want to pass them up. I can’t tell you how many hours have been spent hunting the perfect jeans! They were a bit pricey, but the fact that these came right to my door was a huge bonus.  Second, you get 25% off your order when you take all 5 pieces. Normally deals like that wouldn’t sway me so much but….well, just see for yourself.

Considering I was going to buy the jeans and the Papermoon shirt, it seemed silly to pass up the other items as well.  The discount really helped seal the deal on this one.

Let me finish by saying this is way more than I anticipated on spending. My husband did remind me that I shop clearance and thrift so much I deserved something nice. This is not something I will do all the time, but it is a nice change when I need a few nice pieces.

Also, the pieces that I did buy are things that I can mix and match and turn into several outfits, especially the jeans, and sweater. Those are staples that will be used so much this fall and winter.

Will I use Stitch Fix again?

I will Absolutely use Stitch Fix again!! I placed my fix order a week ago and had items at my door today! They listened to all of my requests, really looked at my pin-board, and took into consideration where I live and what I do. I feel like they really “got” me and my style and gave me the best pieces.  Some of which, I probably wouldn’t have picked up myself, but look great on.

Don’t be scared! Go now and try Stitch Fix and see what amazing pieces come your way I would love to hear what you get in your box!
