You should know how to make basic dishes like pasta, you should know how to fry an egg or make pancakes, and most importantly, you should know how to make a decadent chocolate frosting. This is absolutely THE BEST Homemade Chocolate Frosting Recipe EVER!
I love chocolate frosting for many reasons. It is good on just about any kind of cake or cookie. It’s even fabulous on brownies. This chocolate frosting plus this Emergency Cake Mix is just a dangerous combo. You can pretty much slather this on anything at it will be the best thing you have ever eaten. 😉
I made this dairy free, but you can totally use real butter and real milk if dairy isn’t an issue in your house.
You just melt the butter (or dairy free substitute), stir in the cocoa powder, then mix in the powdered sugar and milk. Whip it with a hand mixer or whisk until smooth. Y’all. That is it!
Like I said, this is so good on anything, but it is pretty much the best thing ever on top of cupcakes!
- ⅔ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup butter, melted
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Mix the cocoa powder with melted butter.
- Once mixed use a whisk or hand mixer and beat in powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Should be perfect but if your frosting is too runny add some more powdered sugar, or if it is too thick mix in a tablespoon more milk.
- Use dairy free butter substitute and dairy free milk of choice.
