I have seen this idea floating around and I had to give it a try! These Candy Box Easter Baskets were just too cute not to give a whirl. Creating an Easter basket out of $1 boxes of candy is just genius!
I picked up theater box candy at Target today. I got lucky because they had Easter themed boxes on sale. I actually got them for less than $1 each! Thank you Target Red Card!
DIY Candy Box Easter Baskets
You will need
- 4 Boxes of theater candy (Keep in mind you are going to want pairs of boxes the same size so your basket will come out even. )
- 1 Nerd Rope or other long candy for the handle
- A piece of cardboard for the bottom.
- Hot glue gun & hot glue.
I lined up the boxes for a dry run to find the best way they would fit together. I then hot glued them together. I cut a piece of cardboard and hot glued it along the bottom. I then took a nerd rope and hot glued it to the inside for the handle.
How STINKIN’ CUTE are these! I mean seriously, for under $5 I have a cute basket that is full of candy! I can now put a couple fun gifts inside and have a great Easter basket for each kid on a budget!
Plus, what kid isn’t going to flip out that their basket IS THE candy!
There are so many fun possibilities with this one. Give it a try and let me know how it turns out.
