Sometimes when you are celebrating a little mess is necessary to kick the fun up a notch! These DIY Confetti Shooters are crazy simple to make and work SO SO well! My kids even love to make them shoot pom poms and marshmallows. These are perfect for summer vacation, or a birthday party.

    What you Need

    • Treat Cups or other disposable heavy duty paper or plastic cup.
    • Balloons
    • scissors
    • confetti / pom poms/ mini marshmallows / etc

    How to

Cut the bottom out of your treat cup, which by the way are the perfect size for this project and come in so many fun designs and colors.  Leave the rim for added support.

Now if you are using a paper or a plastic cup keep in mind you want to use a heavier duty brand. The lighter ones will crumble from the pressure of the balloon. Trust me, we have first-hand knowledge of this.

There are officially 2 ways to do the balloon part.

Way #1: Use a brand new balloon and cut about ½ inch of the end away from where you blow it up. Tie the blow up end and stretch it over your cup.

Way #2: Use an already blown up balloon. Put a pin in it to let the air out slowly. Now cut it right about where I have pictured above. Because the ballon was already blown-up/stretched out. It seems to work a bit better in my opinion. Just stretch it over the cup.

Now I did way #2 mostly because we had 2 birthday recently at my house and I may still have stray balloons floating around. It was a fun way to kill them without having to hear what a mean mom I am. Just saying. Just a few supplies and you can make this fun DIY Confetti Shooter! They aren't just for confetti! Your confetti shooter is ready to go! All you have to do is load it with confetti, pom poms, mini marshmallows; really anything light that you want. Pull back on the balloon and let it fly!

I was even thinking these would be perfect to fill with confetti or bird seed for a wedding when the bride a groom are leaving. Super creative and you could color coordinate with the day!

At last...something for all my class. I have a group of developmentally delayed adults with various mental and physical abilities. We meet once a month for bible lessons, craft, story, game, snack. They love it.
This craft will allow ALL of them to shoot marshmallows at certain targets (probably each other)!!!
      Thank you!
