Is Succulent Soil Necessary?
The short answer is YES! Succulents are different than regular plants. They are from the cactus family, and they need excellent drainage. That is why the coarse sand or poultry grit and perlite are essential parts of this mix. They help the soil drain well and not hold as much water, so the roots of your succulents do not rot.
How to Store Succulent Soil?
Just like any soil, you can keep this in your garage, potting shed, etc. I like to mix this up in big batches and keep it in a bucket with a lid on it. You don’t want bugs moving in. I use an old cat litter bucket, but you can purchase 5-gallon buckets at the hardware store with tight-fitting lids that are perfect for the job.
This succulent soil is perfect for all of your succulent needs. It is great when you are regrowing succulents, or you just have some new friends to add to the family.
