The Biggest Money Saving Tip While On Vacation

Planning a trip with the family? Check out THE BIGGEST Money Saving Tip While on Vacation!

Family vacations happen all year long. Whether you are traveling for Summer vacation or to a family reunion. There is one tip that will save you money regardless. Pack your own Food!  That is the BIGGEST Money Saving Tip while on Vacation.

As simple as it sounds being prepared and packing your own food will save you a ton of money.  Here are some tips to help you save the most without spending all of your time prepping.

Book a Hotel Room with Fridge & Microwave – When booking your hotel room ask for a room with a fridge and microwave. It is even better if you can get a full kitchenette. That way you have a place to store and heat your food if necessary.

Locate the Nearest Store – You don’t have to pack a ton of food and supplies. Locate the nearest store to where you will be vacationing. Purchase the items you will need while you are there. It will still be much cheaper than dining out. Don’t forget paper plates, paper towels, and plastic silverware.

Don’t Pass on Convenience – You are on vacation after all. Take advantage of pre-packaged snacks, juice boxes, freezer meals, etc.  These items may be more expensive than day to day items but still much cheaper than purchasing food in theme parks or at restaurants.

Know their Policy – Take a minute to research your destination. Many theme parks and sporting venues allow you to bring in your own food. If not, they allow you to leave, eat, and return. This could save you a ton of money compared to the in venue prices. For example: A bottle of water can cost near $4 at some theme parks. You can buy your own for a fraction of that at the store.

Splurge – Don’t forget that you are on vacation. We like to purchase and pack our own snacks, breakfast, & lunch and splurge on dinner. Pick one meal to enjoy a sit down meal at a restaurant.

In the end, you can choose to spend hundreds on snacks, meals, and drinks while you are vacationing, or pack your own and save that money to put toward your next family vacation.
