Tips-to-Avoid-Back-to-School-Mishaps

Back to School time can be so stressful for moms. It is so difficult to get everyone’s supplies, get everything organized, and the hardest part – getting everyone out the door with “THEIR” belongings. We are in the process of getting everyone ready for school at my house. I feel like I am going in 10 different directions at once.

Last year I got all the kids ready for school, almost without incident. I sent my son to school with his Star Wars lunchbox, and he came home without it. Since he is gluten free, packing his lunch is a necessity. After a few days I decided that his lunchbox was gone forever and bought him a new Lego lunchbox. The next day the StarWars Lunchbox came home but the lego lunchbox didn’t. I was left scratching my head. How does this happen? Apparently 8 year old little boys don’t really care what lunchbox they have. I should have stuck with a paper bag. LOL After some serious questioning, and a trip to school I finally tracked down both lunchboxes and the issue was someone else had a StarWars Lunchbox that looked just like it. If I would have just got some labels, I could have avoided the whole thing.

Here are my tips to avoid back to school mishaps.

  • Shop the Sales and Stick with the supply lists – Save money and stress by sticking with your child supply list and shopping the back to school sales.
  • Purchase a non-character quality back pack and lunchbox that will last more than one year. You can thank me later. This saves me a ton with 3 kids.
  • Make lists – I have a hard time keeping everything straight. Making lists of who needs what, and who needs to be where at what time keeps me sane. Use an app to help you. I love Evernote.
  • Label- Labeling your children’s items so you don’t mis-place or loose them! I love Bright Star Kids Labeling Products. Right now you can get $5 off 40 or more purchase when you use coupon code SCHOOL! Perfect for back to school! I love that they have 2 types of labels- Stick on and iron on. They are both 100% water proof and scratch resistant.

Put a label on it! Kick off the school year right and prevent unnecessary mishaps. Reply below for $5 off your Bright Star Kids order.
