Woofing You a Merry Christmas Printable Dog Treat Bag Toppers & Gift Idea

Christmas time is a time for giving and spreading joy to others. In our house there is one member of our family that gives us joy all year long and he deserves something special at Christmas too! Our dog, Pudge!

Pudge is our basset hound and he manages to bring a smile to our faces no matter what kind of day we are having. He is eager to give us what he has and that is love. He is always ready to jump on my lap and snuggle when I have had a rough day. He also is quick to let me know when I need to sit down and take a break. The other thing his is excellent at is howling…at everything, but we won’t hold that against him. 

We headed out this weekend to do a little holiday shopping. My daughter Audrey and I ran into our local Dollar General to snag some of Pudge’s favorite dog treats for his stocking. She had a blast snagging all of his favorites. While we were there we decided we were going to take this one step further this year and do a little something special for others. 

We got a bag full of Milk-Bone, Pup-Peroni, and Canine Carry Outs dog treats. Dollar General has a great selection of your dog’s favorite treats at a super price. These are perfect for stocking stuffers or just because they deserve a little something special. We try to keep a little stash in the pantry to reward Pudge when he is extra well behaved.

We put aside some of Pudge’s favorite treats for his stocking and then got to work making these adorable  “Woofing you a Merry Christmas” Treat Bag labels. If our dog brings us so much joy, other dogs bring their owners joy too! They should be celebrated and rewarded for just being the great pets they are. 

These labels print 4 to a sheet. Just snag these treat bags at your local store or online and fill them with your favorite treats. We found out that 3 Milk Bone or 3 Canine Caryouts and a Pup-peroni were a perfect fit. Just cut out your label and attach it to the top.  These are even easier to attach if you print them on sticker paper.

I can’t think of a cuter way to make someone’s day brighter at the dog park. You can also make these and hand them out at a Vet’s office, for mail carriers to hand out to people on their routes, or just give them to people you see walking their dogs. Sometimes it is the smallest acts of kindness that make the biggest impact. Simply remembering someones canine companion this time of year is a sweet gesture that will surely make a lasting impression. Not to mention there are going to be some happy dogs in your neighborhood too!
