How to Make Your Own K-Cup Organizer

Every once in awhile I get this burst of creativity.  Don’t ask me where it comes from but it usually happens when I am angry. LOL  Seriously the hubby knows he is in trouble when I start cleaning or crafting.  So I was stomping around the house this morning ~giggle~ and it hit me.  I have been wanting a K-Cup organizer for a while, so why not just make one. I rummaged in the garage and found a piece of plywood and ran to Ace hardware to get a hole saw bit for my drill that was the right size for the k-cups.  1 5/8″ if anyone wants to know. Apparently the heavens were smiling down on my project today because the exact bit I needed was the only one on in store special for 50% off! WOO HOO!

So, $6 later I came home and got to work.

I had a spot in mind for this in my kitchen.  The sky is the limit on the size, shape etc.  The  important info is the holes for the k-cups should be 1 5/8 inch.  Just big enough for the cup to go in and not fall out! 🙂 I chose to do half k-cup holder, half menu board. Here is my plywood after I drilled all of the holes.

Then I got busy sanding! I just got a new power sander and I am pretty sure I am in love. I forsee a ton of projects in my future.  It is the little things in life that make me happy!

After I sanding I busted out the chalkboard paint and gave this a good coat or two and let it sit to dry while I went to pick up kids.

I knew this needed to sit off of the wall a bit, so I plundered in the garage some more and found these wood stakes.  I cut them to size and painted them to match. Then I used some wood screws and screwed one to the top and one to the bottom of my board.

Finally I attached a picture mount to the top back of the board.

Last but not least, I hung it on the wall and added my K-Cups!  I can’t tell you how excited I am to have this done and hanging up! I absolutely love it!

If you are looking for a great deal on K-Cups check out Cross Country Cafe.  I just ordered some of my favorite K-Cups for just $11.99 for a box of 24! That is a great price!

  1. Wow, that looks awesome! I am trying to figure out the best way to organize my cups. I am hoping to get the reusable filter from our wedding registry, so I shouldn’t really need to organize much. But I really love your coffee station!
