It has only been a couple months since we moved into our "new" house. This is our fixer upper and we are tackling one room at a time to make it our dream home. The first up was my daughter's room and we were looking for some Inexpensive wall art. The problem was we just weren't finding what we wanted. We got creative and decided to share what we did with you.

The girls' room is going to be British Bookstore themed. My daughter's love books, bookstores, Harry Potter, tea, and really all things book related. So we decided to turn their room into a classic girly bookstore. They have one large wall that we wanted to do some large black and white art prints on.

I bought 3 of these Ribba Frames from Ikea. The 19 ¾ x 27 ½" was perfect with a mat for a 16x20 picture. The frames are only $14.99 each too! SCORE! Now we just needed the perfect pictures to go in them.

I looked around online. Checked ETSY. All the usual places. Then I realized something. These are just photographs that someone took with their camera, and I just happen to have a camera.

Since we were going for the British bookstore theme I had pictures on my phone from a recent trip to Universal Studios. These were pictures that I had taken with my phone, so if you don't have a special camera don't worry.

I pulled them up on my computer, and made them black and white. Then I ordered 3 that the girls liked the most from Walgreens photo in 16x20 prints. Keep your eyes out for special offers and coupons. They were running an offer when I ordered mine and I got all three prints for less than $20!

At the end of the day we have a wall of artwork that looks fantastic in the girls room and that they love. The photos remind them of all the fun we had as a family at Universal and add the perfect whimsical touch to their room.

PS: This was before we painted the walls, but couldn't wait to hang up our art.

The best part is that this idea can be used for any type of room. Take some photos of objects, places, or things that you love and blow them up into poster prints and frame them. By making your photos black and white it gives them just the right artsy touch to look classy and make a statement in your room.
