Summer Flip Flop Wreath
The kids and I hit up the dollar tree today. We needed a Summer Craft Project and what better place to get all of our supplies than a store where everything costs $1!
We ended up with this heap of supplies which includes….
- 5 Pairs of colorful flip flops $1 each
- 1 Bunch of summery artificial flowers $1
- 1 pack of pinwheels $1
- Rhinestones…cause it needed sparkles $1
- Straw Wreath form (walmart) $2.96)
- Glue gun & glue sticks….already owned
We started gluing the flip flops on rotating them facing out…then in. We also alternated the colors. Basically, this is a super easy project for the kids to help with. They picked the colors, helped pull the flowers off the stems and told me where to glue everything. I was just in charge of the glue gun.
In the end we ended up with this adorable wreath for the front door. I had to hang it from the shutters for now because my door hanger wasn’t quite wide enough for our front door. Hubby says I should have them make a second one for the other side of the window and just leave them their because it turned out so good.
My kids’ favorite part….the fact that the pinwheels still spin when the wind blows. All in all this project was a winner! It took us about 30 mins to glue everything down, and enjoy the giggles! Total cost was about $10.96. Not bad for some great memories, a cute decoration, and an afternoon of fun.
Oh my gosh so simple yet so adorable! I could do this one 🙂
