Tide You Over Tuesday: Homemade Italian Dressing Mix

005

I am always looking for new and exciting recipes to share with you guys, and I love finding make your own mix recipes.  They turn out not only being healthier but much easier on the wallet.  This week I stumbled across a recipe for Homemade Italian Dressing Mix.  It is absolutely genius, because with the food allergies in my house I have to read every label twice to make sure there is no hidden gluten or dairy.  With my own mix, I know what is in my salad dressing.

You can use this for so many things besides salads.  Make this dressing for on pasta, as a marinade, or use the mix as a dry rub on meat before you grill.  It is so versatile!   I will now be adding this to my seasoning cabinet with my homemade taco seasoning and homemade onion soup mix

  1. This sounds great! The only kind of italian dressing I like is the Good season brand that you mix at home. I bet your recipe will be more like that. And even better I have most of the ingredients right now in my pantry except for the thyme and celery. Thanks for the recipe.

  2. Do u have a ranch dip/dressing mix recipe by any chance. Those little packets of dry ranch mix are SOOO expensive.
    thx

  3. dang I wish I had just spent money on this stuff last night for a recipe I am making today :) but this will be pinned for future use!

  4. I just mixed up the seasonings…can’t wait to try it for dinner! Thank you for sharing!

  5. My boyfriend and I are just starting to really get serious about eating better. We’ve been looking at recipes online and gathering info on all kinds of great dishes. We’ve come across tons of great dishes that need Italian seasoning packets. We’ve never bought Italian seasoning packets before so when we went to the store we were kind of shocked at the $1.30 – $1.50 price tag on a teeny tiny little packet. This recipe you posted came at the GREATEST TIME! Thank you so much for posting this. :) I know purchasing some of the ingredients will be a bit pricy to start off with but I know we’ll save a lot in the long run, I can’t wait to try it out.

    Thanks again and take care!

  6. Wonderful!! Can I share this on my blog and with your picture. I am so excited about this. Looking for a recipe for salad dressing with no soy!!

  7. Hi, I am making this for a pantry staple instead of buying the premade mixes with all of the junk in them. I will be using this for pot roast and things like that instead of actually making dressing with it. Would you say that 2 TBS of this mix equals 1 packet of the store-bought mix? Thanks for your recipe! Can’t wait to try it out!

  8. Also wondering how much you would wonsider is equal to a packet of mix that most recipes call for? Thanks so much for sharing:)
