DIY Halloween Luminaries
If you are looking for a fun Halloween Craft to do with the kids these DIY Halloween Luminaries are so adorable it’s scary!
The kids and I decided it was about time to get crafty for Halloween! After a quick trip to the dollar tree (Isn’t that where all great projects begin?) we got busy on making these fun DIY Halloween Luminaries.
Supplies
You will Need
- Glass bowls (found these at Dollar Tree)
- Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brushes
- Googly eyes
- Hot glue gun
- Small votive candle or flameless battery powered luminary lights
Instructions
We started by painting our glass bowls. We did a purple monster, green frankenstein, and orange pumpkin.
*Mom Tip* Go to your local hardware store and by a roll of brown painters paper. They are huge and usually under $10. They are great for art projects like this and more!
Once painted let them dry thoroughly. We left ours sit for about an hour. You can use a black sharpie to decorate them or some black paint and a smaller paint brush. We opted for paint.
Paint on the details for your characters. The pumpkin was totally painted. Frankenstein here was painted but we then glued on some googly eyes. Our purple monster was ALL eyes.
When you are done gluing and painting add a little battery powered luminary candle (found at Dollar Tree) or a real candle. Either way, these are so cute in person!
