Why has candy taken over the world? I love handing out treats from time to time, but when you have three kids hunting baskets full of easter eggs that are filled with nothing but candy, sugar overload happens. This year we are avoiding sugar overload and using these 10 Exciting Easter Egg Filler Ideas that Aren’t Candy to keep the kids happy and excited. We will be saving our treats for other things like a special dessert.

Money

Nothing motivates kids like money. LOL, It doesn’t have to be a lot. Fill a few eggs with some spare change, or make a “GOLDEN EGG” that has $1 or $5 in it. Whoever finds it will think they hit the jackpot.

Stickers

Stickers are something fun that fits perfectly inside of those plastic eggs. They are a fun treat for little ones who just can’t seem to get enough of them.

LEGOS

This idea is PERFECT for the little builders in your life. Grab a minifigure, or buy a set of legos and put a couple in each egg. After a morning hunt, they will have enough to get creative and build something fun!

Jewelry

Girls love to get all fancy and dress up. A piece of Jewelry is a great Easter Egg Filler. Place a bracelet, earrings, or necklace right inside the egg. Little girls love stick-on earrings too!

Puzzle Pieces

Ok, this one is crazy fun! Buy a puzzle, any puzzle. You choose the number of pieces. Then begin filling eggs with the pieces. It is like a treasure hunt to get all of the puzzle pieces to put the puzzle together. It adds a layer of excitement and makes it even more fun.

Flower Seeds

If your kids have a green thumb pick up some wildflower or garden seeds. The little packets fold up and fit right in the eggs.

Balloons

Every kid everywhere loves balloons. It is a proven fact. They are also the perfect size to become a fantastic Easter Egg Filler.

Slime

SLIME!! The darn stuff is everywhere. Not only can you make your slime, but you can buy it from just about any kid. Place a few tablespoonfuls in a Ziploc, and it is a great Easter Egg Filler.

Tickets

I love this Easter egg filler idea. Buy some tickets, or even make your own. I have seen them at the dollar store, or you can order them on Amazon. Have some rewards that might not fit in the eggs. Let the kids cash in their tickets for prizes at the end of your Easter Egg Hunt!

Clues

Turn your Easter Egg Hunt into something mysterious. Create a treasure hunt by leaving clues in each egg to the next egg. The last clue leads to a fun prize or reward. The kids will have a blast.

I hope these Easter Egg Filler Ideas have helped you plan out an amazing Easter Egg Hunt.
