Easy Glow in the Dark Floam Recipe

When I was a kid I was obsessed with watching Nickelodeon! Anybody else?! Then when we went to the mall the first stop was K.B. Toys for some GAK or FLOAM. Do y’all remember that? Well, now we just make our own floam, and we have kicked it up a notch or two with this super easy to make Glow in the Dark Floam! It’s the coolest thing ever!
Glow in The Dark Floam
You will Need
- 1/2 cup Elmer’s Glow in the Dark Glue
- 1/2 cup +/- Foam Beads
- 1/2 cup Liquid Starch
- 1/2 cup Water
How to
The Elmer’s glow in the dark glue makes this a piece of cake! Just make your slime base. Mix your glue and water together well so that they incorporate together. Then stir in your liquid starch until your slime comes together. Now, stir in the foam beads. How many you use is up to you.
We went easy on them at first and then added a few more.
The best part is the glow! You guys!!!! This stuff glows REALLY REALLY WELL! I am thinking it would be a HUGE hit at a slumber party!
You can mix the colors too! Elmer’s Glow in the Dark glue comes in blue, green, and pink. We made blue this time. Plus this makes a good-sized batch. You could split it up over multiple kids without a problem. When you are done playing store this in an airtight container.
Educational Bonus!
There is a secret fun “educational” lesson about density here too. If you allow this to sit in a mason jar with a lid on it let the kids observe what happens with the foam beads over a day. Even though the slime is thick they actually will all rise to the top! CRAZY! All you have to do is re-stir it or mush it with your hands to get it back together.
