2012 Mazda 3i with Skyactiv Review

I feel very lucky to be able to review great items like the 2012 Mazda 3i with Skyactiv and share my thoughts and opinions with you guys! A couple weeks ago I was given this beautiful Mazda 3 to drive for a week.  Now we are a family of 5 so I knew right off the bat that this wouldn’t fit everyone in my family! However it would be a great car for a smaller family or even a great second car for that drive to work.

I think everything that comes with these new cars is awesome.  All of the controls that are in the steering wheel make it so easy to navigate without taking your eyes off the road.  The Mazda 3i has also has a built in navigation system which is amazing for a mom like me.  I can just plug in my destination while I am on the go and it pops up on the screen and guides me turn by turn.

I am not a mechanic and I don’t pretend to be, however this Mazda 3i has Skyactiv technology and if you are like me you probably have no idea what that is.  Very simply put Skyactiv technology is a high efficiency engine and transmission that helps you get better performance and better gas mileage.  This Mazda 3i with skyactiv gets 28 MPG city and 40 MPG Highway! But to pass the mom test I need to have room to put my groceries.  For a smaller sportier sedan, this Mazda 3i has unbelievable trunk space.  Plus if you have to haul a larger item you can fold the rear seats down for more room.  Since I had my girls with me I was just using the trunk.  We really put it to the test buy taking it with us for our weekly grocery trip.  Here is the before.

And here is the trunk after.  To be fair it has a couple 12 packs of soda, a big bag of dog food, and all of my groceries with some room to spare.  That is impressive.

So after a week of falling in love with this car I was sad to see it go.   I think for the price you can’t go wrong.  You are getting a reliable car with all of the bells and whistles that Mazda has to offer.  You are getting great trunk space, amazing gas mileage, and stellar performance.  The hubby and I are actually looking to buy one of these in the future for a second vehicle, that is how much we loved it !
