How to Make the Best Buttercream Frosting
In your mixer, beat the butter and powdered sugar together along with 1 tsp of vanilla and 1 tbsp of milk. If needed add in 1 tbsp more of milk at a time until you reach the desired consistency. If your icing is too runny you can add in some more powdered sugar (about 1/8 cup at a time) until your frosting is the right consistency.
Beat your frosting on a medium high speed for about 4-5 minutes for a fluffy “Whipped” frosting.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge until ready to frost.
Vegan Buttercream Frosting
We have found that this frosting is so good made with vegan butter sticks ( I like the Country Crock Sticks), and using coconut or almond milk in place of the regular milk. This frosting is just as good, if not better, made vegan.
The Best Buttercream Frosting Recipe
- In a mixer beat butter and powdered sugar together. Mix in vanilla, and add 2 tbsp of milk. Continue adding milk 1 tbsp at a time until the icing is at a desired consistency.
- Use dairy free margarine and dairy free milk of your choice.
