Accio Cupcakes! These Harry Potter Inspired Chocolate Frog Cupcakes will hop off the plate! Bring a little magic to your party or movie night!

There is one thing that everyone in my house can agree on, and that is our love of all things Harry Potter! My kids were through the roof excited when we surprised them with a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Florida for my son's 13th birthday. I had plans to surprise them with these Chocolate Frog Cupcakes before we left, but Hurricane Irma had other things in mind. It's ok; we had a blast making them together when we got back.

When it doubt, Amazon usually has what you need. Like this Chocolate Frog Mold. I ordered it, and it was here in just a couple days.

    Chocolate Frogs 101

Melt your chocolate according to the package. I added about 1 tablespoon of coconut oil to make it a better consistency. Spoon your melted chocolate into the mold and tilt it around until the frogs are coated all over. You can even use a clean new paint brush and paint the chocolate on.

Now you can make solid chocolate frogs OR....add peanut butter to them. Go big, or go home. Right?!

    • All I did was use only about 1 tablespoon of chocolate in each to coat the mold.
    • I then popped it in the freezer for a couple of minutes for the chocolate to set. While I was waiting, I put some creamy peanut butter in a Ziploc bag and cut the tip like a piping bag.
    • I pulled the chocolate frog mold out and piped in the peanut butter.
    • Last but not least I took some more melted chocolate and spooned it over the peanut butter on the frogs. I used a butter knife to scrape it flat. Back into the freezer, they went to set again.

Now that my frogs are finished, the kids and I made a batch of chocolate cupcakes using this Homemade Chocolate Cake Mix. If you have never tried it, you should. This stuff is pretty much the best!

Oh, and my cupcake liners make me swoon. We chose these Navy Trifoil Liners from Sweets & Treats. Not only do they remind us of the chocolate frog box from the Harry Potter Movies, but they are greaseproof, meaning they will stay that beautiful color throughout the baking process.

The Chocolate Cupcakes got topped with this Unbelievable Peanut Butter Frosting Recipe that truly is unbelievable! You have to try it at least once in your life. Then, last but not least, a chocolate frog on top!

I am not sure I have ever been in love with a cupcake more in my life. Top these Chocolate Frog Cupcakes with some extra bling with some star or gold glitter sprinkles. They add the perfect touch of magic! Now just wave your wand and say "Accio Cupcake" before these disappear forever!
