Healing Gemstones to Use for Jewelry & Their Meanings
Energy is all around you! Learn about Healing Gemstones to Use for Jewelry & their meanings. These natural stones are fantastic!
I love crafting and making jewelry. Something as simple as making your diffuser bracelet can make an incredibly thoughtful gift. If you want to add a little more thought and care, you can use just the perfect beads and gemstones to add meaning to your jewelry. Here are some of my favorite Healing Gemstones and their meanings.
What is a Healing Gemstone?
Energy can not be created or destroyed. That is the law of conservation energy, which is the basis for many sciences. (Homeschool nerd mom here.) That simple fact can be carried over into EVERY aspect of life. Gemstones take thousands of years to form, and all of that energy has to go somewhere. For centuries people have believed that certain rocks contain healing energies. Whether or not you think it is true, I believe in taking all of the help I can get. So if choosing the right beautiful gemstones can attract more positive energy, I am all for it.
Common Healing Stones
Amethyst
This beautiful purple stone is not only February’s birthstone but has some powers too. It is a powerful and protective stone. Amethyst helps you find balance. It reduces stress while increasing your spiritual awareness. It is also said to help improve communication and create a sense of inner peace.
Rose Quartz
One of my favorites, this pink quartz, is the rock of love. LITERALLY! Rose Quartz purifies and opens the heart at all levels to promote love, self-love, friendship, deep inner healing, and feelings of peace. So if it involves any love, friendship, kindness, acts of the heart, this is your rock!
Tigers Eye
The name of this gem tells you precisely what it does. Tigers Eye gives you the eye of the tiger and the focus you need to accomplish anything. It is excellent for focus, will power, grounding, courage, and empowerment. This beautiful tiger-striped stone helps increase self-confidence and reduce tensions.
Citrine
Citrine adds a beautiful pop of color with its yellow hue. It brings with it happiness, warmth, and goodness. Citrine is also known for attracting wealth, prosperity, and success. (We all could use that!) This yellow stone is an excellent stone for the creative person in your life because it enhances self-expression and creativity!
Moonstone
I am new to moonstone, but it has quickly become my favorite stone. I have used them in the last several bracelets I have made. Moonstone is a stone for new beginnings and provides strength and support for inner growth and change. It is also a stone that represents mothering and ancient wisdom. Moonstone is the wise stone of the group that is like a grandmother; it provides love, support, and comfort with knowledge of the past to move forward. This stone is also gorgeous! It reminds me of opal, but when the light of day or the moon hits it, it glows!
Quartz
Quartz isn’t just for countertops. It is a pretty clear stone that absorbs the energy around you and then amplifies it. So, if you focus on the positive while wearing the stone, it will broadcast that positive energy.
Turquoise
Native Americans, Egyptians, and even ancient Tibetans knew that Turquoise was a powerful stone. This bluish-green gem contains healing powers for your entire body. It is said to help alleviate aches and pains, but it also does something else. It is the stone for speakers, bringing mental clarity and the ability to speak to crowds. Turquoise brings serenity to your mind allowing you to talk freely.
Jade
Jade is usually thought of as a green stone, but it can range from a grey-lavender to a deep green. This is a dream stone that is said to bring vivid dreams. It also supports balance, serenity, wisdom, and harmony. Jade attracts good luck and friendship. For centuries, Jade has been thought of as a protective stone, protecting the wearer from harm.
Aquamarine
Maybe because this is my birthstone (March baby), I love Aquamarine. The light blue color reminds me of the ocean, and that brings with it calming, peaceful energy. This stone is said to soothe, bring tranquility, peace, aide in meditation, and increase intuition.
Everything in this world has an energy and power. Using these beautiful gemstones to bring some positivity to your life is a fun and elegant way to choose beads for your next jewelry project. These are not the only gemstones that have healing properties, do some research, and find out what other stones are capable of.
