Skip the store-bought stuff! If you are making coleslaw this Homemade Coleslaw Dressing Recipe is one of the best around! Plus its dairy free!

    Homemade coleslaw in bowl

Backyard BBQ's are a staple at my house. My husband loves to grill dinner for us.  Many times a week I can look out the backdoor and see him at the grill, which leaves me in charge of the sides.

Who can complain? I love being in charge of only the sides.  The side dishes are the icing on the cake.  Of course, coleslaw comes naturally with anything grilled and my Homemade Coleslaw Dressing is our favorite.

    Money Saving

I always make our own coleslaw dressing.  I have never bought store bought coleslaw dressing. Not that I think it is bad, it is just so much easier and cheaper to whip up a bowl of dressing and grab a bag of coleslaw mix at the grocery store.

For a couple of dollars, I have a family size portion of coleslaw that tastes better than any pre-made coleslaw you can ever buy.

    How to Make Coleslaw Dressing

Homemade Coleslaw dressing on coleslaw in bowl

Whisk together all of the ingredients to create the dressing. Pour the dressing over a bag of shredded coleslaw. Allow to sit a few minutes and serve.

That is it. The coleslaw does soften up if you let it sit a little longer. That makes this a great dish to prep ahead of time.

    Vegan

This coleslaw dressing is made with a mayo base. To make it vegan simply use your favorite vegan mayo. We love to use Just Mayo.

    Storage

Keep any uneaten coleslaw in the fridge for up to 2 days in an airtight container. The dressing is best made within 24 hours of using it.

Looks good! Any ideas of a healthy substitute for mayo? Maybe half of it Greek yogurt? We are on low fat diets.

How is that dairy free? There is eggs in the mayo. I'd use Vegan Mayo by Hellmanns. I like the addition of pineapple juice tho! Very creative!

Lee, eggs are not dairy. Dairy are any milk products from cows (milk, cheese, butter, etc.). Eggs are poultry.
