Gooey Banana Boats
I love Summer time! Taking the kids to play outside in the sprinkler, gardening, going for hikes, camping, and grilling outdoors. Oh and the beach! I love the beach! They are all some of my favorite things to do!
Grilling is one of those great pastimes that you can really do anytime of the year! Tonight is burger night at my house! That has to be one of my all time favorite meals; freshly grilled hamburgers! Don’t forget the french fries!
Then, when you think of grilled desserts only one comes to mind; SMORES! What if I told you about another grilled dessert? One that was slightly healthier, and just as yummy. What if I told you that it takes just 5 minutes?! Are you interested? Well, I hope so because todays “Snack”urday is Gooey Banana Boats! You can make them on the grill or in the oven. Either way they are equally delicious! Plus, you can personalize them! Pick your favorite goodies to put inside! Oh yummy goodness!
Gooey Banana Boats
Gooey Banana Boats Printable Version
- 4 Fresh Bananas (no brown spots)
- Chocolate Chips
- Mini Marshmallows
- Nuts
- Peanut butter chips
- Carmel chips
- Pieces of graham cracker
- Aluminum foil
Directions
Heat Grill or Oven to 400 degrees.
Unroll a 12” by 12” piece of aluminum foil.
Take one banana and slit it length wise. Be careful not to cut the banana the whole way through. You want it to look like a canoe.
Take hold of both ends of the banana and push those inwards. This will cause the banana to split open for the stuffing.
Fill the banana with whatever filling you desire; chocolate, marshmallows etc.
Wrap the banana up with the aluminum foil and place on grill or in oven for about 4-5 minutes or until it is warm and gooey.
Serve by itself or with ice cream!
This picture doesn’t do it’s gooeyness justice! These are so delicious!
They are naturally gluten free, and can be made dairy free. I use Ghiradelli semi sweet chocolate chips because they are dairy free!
