This is perfect for breakfast or brunch and oh so simple! Check out this Broiled Grapefruit Recipe!

Who says delicious can’t be low cal?  I am trying to stick with the healthier side of delicious over the next couple weeks.  Fresh fruits and vegetables are such an integral part of our diet, yet we don’t focus on them enough. This Broiled Grapefuit is one of my go-to breakfasts right now! It is perfect with an omelet or by itself.

I have always had a love of grapefruit. I know it is an acquired taste for some people and others will only eat it if it has sugar sprinkled on it. Did you know that when you heat fruit, it brings out the natural sugars?  I had never thought about heating grapefruit until I was served it last year at Disney.  IT IS SPECTACULAR!

This would be an eye-opening addition to a brunch, breakfast, or to serve to the one you love for breakfast in bed!  It is so simple, the most time-consuming part is segmenting the grapefruit.  So, grab a sharp knife, a grapefruit, and some brown sugar…you have to try this!

We just made this on New Years morning — I don’t use any sugar and add cinnamon. It’s a treat for breakfast or for dessert.

We use just a sprinkling of demerara (raw) sugar and then a little dried basil over the top. Yummy!
