Homemade Cajun Seasoning Recipe
Skip store-bought and mix up your own Homemade Cajun Seasoning with this yummy and simple recipe. Print the labels and give as gifts too!
There are a handful of recipes that I have that call for some Cajun seasoning. One of them that comes out this time of year is these Crockpot Black Eyed Peas that I shared over at MomsWithCrockpots.com. This seasoning is good in and on so many things. I personally skip the store-bought and mix up my own with this delicious Homemade Cajun Seasoning Recipe.
This recipe calls for a little bit of this and a little bit of that. I just mix up a batch and keep it in an 8 oz Mason Jar in my spice cabinet along with the other homemade seasoning mixes I have. This and my Homemade Dry Rib Rub are two of my favorites for every day “spicing things up”.
This seasoning is amazing on chicken, perfect in a jambalaya or gumbo, and amazing on just about everything it touches.
You can get your base spices anywhere, but if you are going for budget-friendly check Aldi and the Dollar Tree. They both carry a wide range of spices. I like to buy my spices in bulk from Amazon too because during the holidays I make big batches of these mixes and put them in jars to give as gifts. People love getting a jar of homemade seasoning mixes with a pretty dish towel, wooden spoon, and a new bowl. Heck, that makes a great gift for a housewarming, or wedding too; just saying!
