Sharkcake Sundae Recipe with Printable Topper
Such a fun treat to make for the kids for Shark Week or an Ocean Themed Party! This Sharkcake Sundae Recipe is delicious and there are free Printable toppers too!
Of all of my Shark Week treats that I made with the kids I am pretty sure that these Sharkcake Sundaes were the most creative and most fun! These Sharkcake Sundaes are a twist on a classic strawberry shortcake but with ice cream.
We gathered the stars of our show. This was actually very simple to make.
A Few Shortcuts
I did make homemade Dairy Free Vanilla ice cream (which is crazy easy to make!) and added blue food coloring to make it look like ocean water. They do sell blue ice cream at the grocery store but since my girls are allergic to dairy we went the homemade route.
I also made some homemade gluten-free cupcakes for the cake portion but you could use regular or store-bought cake. Really whatever your family eats and enjoys.
The shark gummy candy and the red and white ring gummy candies can be hard to find. Check out Nuts.com. They have a ton of specialty candy and other goodies really reasonably priced.
Oh, and the adorable “Caution! Sharks in the Area” Toppers I made myself. You can find the free printable to create your own below.
In your clear cup or dessert bowl layer the cake (for the sand), the blue ice cream (ocean), and then whipped topping or whipped cream (sea foam).
Next add a spoonful or two or strawberry pie filling (chum), a gummy shark, and then we added a gummy life preserver and the Sharks in the area pic.
The cuteness and sharky fun on this treat is out of this world!
When you look down on this treat it is just as fun as when you look at it through the glass. These would be perfect for not just a Shark Week party but a beach or ocean themed party too! These Sharkcake Sundae Treats are easy to make and even easier to eat!
