Using Target Milk Crates For File Storage – Space Saving Shortcut

I love my office, but I have limited space. Right now my office not only houses all of my work stuff, but the kids homeschool desks, books, and storage as well. I want my space to be functional but still feel comfortable and look beautiful. I needed somewhere to store files and papers, but I didn’t want to bring a filing cabinet into the mix. We have these great cubbies from Target that I have bought the Large Milk Crates for to camouflage our clutter. I sat here the other day looking at it. I bet I can use those Target Milk Crates For File Storage!

I popped onto Amazon and found these Smead Adjustable Hanging Folder Frames. I got a two pack super reasonably! They were also very simple to assemble. Only took me a couple of minutes.

This is just a matter of setting the frame in the large target milk crate and hanging your folders. If I had only known it was this easy, I would have done this a long, long time ago! OMG! 

I ended up turning two milk crates into makeshift filing cabinets. I can’t tell you how happy I am with how these turned out. A new filing cabinet would have cost me at least $100. I already had the milk crates, cubby organizer, and files so this only cost me $13 for the 2 frames. 

By the way, in case you are wondering the Target Large Milk Crates fit inside the Kallax shelf from IKEA however, the baskets that IKEA sells for their Kallax do not work with the file frames. I tried.
