Every other Friday night at my house is Pizza night. We have perfected the homemade pizza. One of the things that really kicks our pizza flavor up is this homemade easy pizza sauce recipe. It takes only 5 minutes to make and adds a level of flair to a pizza that can’t be beaten.

If you are so used to store-bought that you find yourself asking, ” What can I use if I don’t have pizza sauce?”, this easy homemade pizza sauce recipe is perfect!

What you Need

To make your own homemade pizza sauce you need a few pantry staples

  • Tomato Sauce
  • Tomato Paste
  • Italian Seasoning blend ( you can make your own.)
  • dried oregano
  • garlic powder
  • onion powder
  • garlic salt
  • black pepper
  • sugar

How to make easy pizza sauce

In a bowl mix together the tomato sauce and the tomato paste until there are no lumps.

Add in all of the spices and stir to mix the sauce together.

Give your sauce a taste. If you want, you can add some more seasonings to make the sauce your own, or just use it as you would any store-bought pizza sauce. This makes the best pizza sauce! My kids love it when we make some for with breadsticks or mozzarella sticks.

How Much

Specialty Diets

This sauce is naturally gluten-free, vegan, & nut-free as long as you double-check your spices to avoid contamination.

If you are on one of the many diets avoiding sugar you can omit, or use coconut sugar. You could even use a sugar substitute.

This sauce is best made fresh when needed. If you have leftover sauce store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

If you are premaking pizzas for the freezer, you can freeze this sauce just fine. It is so easy to make there is no need for individual recipes or appetizers.
