1. Sell your extra seedlings.

Did you start seedlings? Do you get ambitious and now have more than you need? Chances are people will buy your seedlings from you. Consider using the Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist to sell your seedlings for as much as a buck a piece! This is a considerable savings over a garden center and someone will be happy to have them!

2. Collect and sell your heirloom seeds.

Do you love heirloom produce? Not only are these some of the tastiest vegetables you will ever eat, but people will pay good money for heirloom seeds. Collect the seeds from your heirloom produce items and store them in a cool, dry place. Look for local gardening clubs or online forums where you can sell the seeds for varying prices depending on rarity.

3. Set up your own Farmer’s Market.

If your city allows it, set up a small stand at the end of your driveway. You can sell extra produce and flowers via this stand to drive by shoppers. These stands are quite popular in the summer months, and a great way to make a little extra cash each week. By keeping an organic garden your produce will not only be in higher demand, but you can charge a little more too.

4. Donate your extra produce.

If you live near a local soup kitchen or homeless center, you can donate your extra produce for them to use in their meals. Not only will it be appreciated, but you can get a receipt for your donation and use it as a tax write off! While it isn’t money directly in hand, it can help lower your tax bill. These centers rarely get fresh food, so they will no doubt appreciate all you have to donate.

5. Rent your garden out.

Is your garden a visual gem? If so, rent it out! Gardens are an excellent setting for tea parties, showers, even photo shoots. You can advertise your garden on most online selling forums, charging by the hour for people to use it. You might also find that people are willing to come and pay to pick, which is also another way to monetize off the space.
