It doesn’t get much simpler than this recipe! In your blender, scoop in 2 cups of vanilla ice cream, pour in the milk or cream, mint extract, and green food coloring, then give it all a whirl. Pour your shake into a tall glass and top with whipped cream, cherry, and even sprinkles.
Vegan Shamrock Shake Idea
You can make a Dairy Free/Vegan Shamrock Shake with just a couple quick substitutions! Use a dairy free vanilla ice cream. They are now readily available at most grocery stores, or you can try this easy recipe for Coconut Vanilla Ice Cream.
Also, use a full fat coconut milk in place of the regular milk. You can use other kinds, but the full fat coconut milk gives the best results.

- 2 cups Vanilla Ice Cream
- 1 cup Milk - or for thicker shake use Half-and-Half or Cream
- 6-8 drops of Green Food Coloring
- 1/8 tsp teaspoon Mint Extract depending on taste
- Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth
- Pour into tall glass
- Top with whipped cream, cherry or sprinkles, if desired
- Serve immediately
- Substitute dairy free vanilla ice cream and full fat coconut milk or other dairy free milk.
