Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
A unique twist on a breakfast favorite! This flavorful Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls Recipe is a must bake. Everyone will want the recipe!
The best Saturday mornings are the ones that start with the smell of cinnamon floating through the house. At least, in my opinion. It always makes getting out of bed a little easier. Today, I made a twist on the traditional Cinnamon Rolls, and I am so glad I took the time to experiment. These Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls have left me speechless in a good way.
They did not come out of a can that I had to whack on the counter and took me a little time. I made a bit of a mess in my kitchen, but it isn’t a good recipe if you don’t make a mess. Right?!
Start to finish these took me about an hour and a half, which isn’t bad for homemade cinnamon rolls. Plus the gooey strawberries oozing out from the center will not only make your taste buds sing but make these rolls look spectacular.

How to Make Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls
You start making these Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls by putting 3/4 cup of milk on the stove on medium heat. Once it gets warm, we are going to melt 1/4 cup butter or margarine in there.
I used almond milk and butter-flavored Crisco, so these would be dairy-free.
In a large bowl, you are going to mix 2 1/2 cups flour, yeast, salt, and sugar. Once mixed you are going to stir in 1 egg and 1/4 cup water. Then you will stir in the warm milk/butter mixture until a dough forms.
At this point, you are looking at a bowl of dough goo and saying to yourself, “Amanda, what did you get me into?” It is ok. Promise! Now you are going to mix in another cup of flour. 🙂
See! It turns out perfect. They flip your dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth. Kneading only takes a few minutes and is ideal for those arm muscles! Work out and cinnamon rolls at the same time. YEP, genius!
Pop the dough back into the bowl and cover it with a moist towel. Let it rest for about 10 minutes.
Turn your dough back out onto the floured surface and roll it into a large rectangle. This rolling pin is amazing for this! Sorry, my rectangle looks more like an oval. As you can tell, this isn’t an exact science.
Now we are going to spread strawberry jam over the entire thing. Then sprinkle with cinnamon and the chopped strawberries evenly over the top. We are going to roll this up starting with the longest side. I just realized out of the gazillion pictures I took; I forgot to take a picture of the roll of dough. Y’all get the idea, though. You are then going to slice the roll into 12 equal pieces. They should be about 1 1/2 inch thick slices.
Then you are going to place all 12 rolls into a greased 11×13 baking dish. Cover with a damp cloth and let them rest and rise for about 30 minutes. While you are waiting, you can preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Pop these into the oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
When the Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls are done baking, drizzle the top of the dough with glaze. Mmm…..
Dairy Free
If you have an allergy or an intolerance you can make these delicious rolls dairy free. Simply substitute your favorite dairy free milk (canned coconut milk works amazingly). You will also substitute a dairy free margarine.
Freezing
Before baking, you can cover your pan with plastic wrap and place in the fridge for up to 2 days before baking. This is a great tip if you are trying to prep ahead for a busy day or holiday.
You can even wrap them tighter with some foil and freeze until ready to bake. When ready, remove them from the freezer and allow them to thaw. Then bake according to the recipe.
Storing
Store any uneaten Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

These look amazing! How do you know what “warm” is? I have tried bread and roll making before but I wasn’t successful and somepne mentioned I probably didn’t get the temperature for the liquid right….ant hints would be appreciated!
Leeann, my tip would be if it is too hot to touch comfortably it is too hot! Think of a hot shower or hot bath. That temperature is perfect. 😉
Thanks for the dairy free version. My tot is dairy intolerant and snacks from the store made him sick so i had try many of your recipes before.Yum and big thanks!!!!!!
Love that you do so many recipes with gluten free variations. Thoughts on making these gluten free.
Those look AMAZING!! I am definitely trying these when the strawberries are in season here! 🙂
Wow – these sound great!! Tweeted!!
Yum! What a great idea!!
Wow can’t wait to try this. NEVER thought about doing it with fruit or berries – my mind is blown. Your pictures are great too. Sounds perfect for breakfast with coffee 🙂 Thanks for the great recipe.
These were yummy! We only had raspberry jam and raspberries so we used those. Can’t wait to try peaches etc. Thanks for sharing.
LOVE , LOVE this recipe! I will make it again!! Great thing to do with the strawberries that are just past eating. I should point out though the prep time of 20 minutes is misleading, accounting for measure/ mixing and resting of the dough (10min) and another rise (30 min). Then the bake of 30 min. So I would say the prep time disclosure is at least 40-45 minutes. (Just for those busy mom’s like me that hunt for quick recipes) Well worth the time though!
These look so fluffy and awesome! The strawberries add such a pleasant pop of color and I bet the flavor is great too!
I made these this morning, but I forgot I didn’t have any powdered sugar to make the glaze. They were fantastic without the glaze, but next time I will make sure I have it. I also used whole wheat white flour, which worked just fine. My finished product wasn’t as flaky, but they were delish!
I am pinning and making next weekend! It’s 11pm and I want to go to the grocery store to make this right NOW. Oh this looks delicious! 🙂
I’M DROOLING !
Yummy! I am going to make these but cheat a bit and use my dough setting on my bread machine. Thank you for a new filling for me to try.
Do you know if this will work with Almond Milk?
Yes it will Nicole 🙂
Has anyone tried freezing them?
Can you use pre-made dough? I’m all about easy! Lol
Yes you totally can! 🙂
Would the recipe still work if I prepped everything the night before, and instead of the 30 minute rise left them covered in the fridge overnight?
Ryann,
I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I don’t see why not. I should work just fine.
Thank you for this recipe. I made them the other morning, and they were delicious! I’ve had others asking for this recipe, too. My only problem was wrapping them up tightly. I know with practice that I will get that down pat.
Thanks for the recipes!
Just made these. They are absolutely AWESOME! Love this recipe. Thank you for sharing.
This was my 1st time to make any kind of cinnamon roll. I followed the recipe to a tee. Nothing I would change there. I however need to work on my rolling out and cutting skills.. Mine made 9 very large DELICIOUS rolls. I will make again.
Thanks for a great recipe! I made these last night and they came out so tasty!!! I used strawberry preserves instead of the jam and made a cream cheese glaze instead of the cinnamon glaze and they still came out great. Can’t wait to make them again!
YAY! Glad you loved them! 🙂
I thought these were fantastic, I made a few tweaks. I did sugar in the raw in the milk milk, proofed my yeast to let it get happy. I followed the recipe otherwise and it was delicious. Next time I would prefer a finer chop on strawberries and may even pulse them in the FP. I loved this. What a fun twist!
These are so good! I was wondering how many calories! Lol
These are so good!! We made them but I think maybe the 2 cups of strawberries made it too runny?? They were kinda soggy when we baked them. But they are so good!!
I totally forgot to thank you very much!!
Oh sorry i forgot about the stars
10/10! I made these just for fun and my family said it’s the best dessert they’ve had! Took a tray to work and they were devoured before lunch, I’ve shared with friends. Thank you!
My granddaughter requested these as part of her birthday present. The dough was so easy to work with and they were a delicious hit. Will definitely plan to make these again!
